Jay's House Concert Video Project
Lately I've been devoting much of my energy to teaching and figuring out how to be a better teacher. Live performing has fallen by the wayside.
But I've still got a lot of music to share, and I've decided to start putting videos on youtube. Think of this as a free house concert beamed to your home, in (mostly) weekly installments.
My compositional attic is full of guitar pieces. Some are fully finished, some are "in process," and some are just brilliant scraps that need a kick to get them moving forward.
Here's the plan: I'll practice and rework each piece until it's presentable, then do a few takes in front of my Macbook, choose the best take, put it up on youtube. I'm not sure how long this process will take but once it's done, the plan is to record the best ones in a much more high fidelity setting, put them on CD, and make them available on Itunes, Emusic, et al!
Update: As part of this project, I will also perform all of my solo published pieces. Check out Juicy Fruit Shuffle, Variations on a Mongolian Folk Song, Threnody, and Sonata (3 Movements) I'll probably wait until Halloween to post the Spooky Blues, but who knows?
